Do come to the first ever fundraiser for our newly established charity Dissenters Arts N16.
Saturday 20 October 6-10pm, St Matthias Halls.
Featuring Eyes Open to the World – Dissenters Gallery hosts an exhibition of photographs by journalist Alix Kroeger (pictured**) capturing the beautiful and the unexpected she has discovered in her journeys abroad and closer to home.
Steps on a Different Journey – St Matthias Hall hosts a short selection of clips of performances by Chorus of Dissent from Mac Campeanu’s rich and unseen video archive.
A splendid meal by our favourite chef and gastronome Linda Galloway @Daffodil Soup.
Doors and cash bar 6pm. £16.50 entry by ticket only (buy here)
Funds raised will continue promoting community engagement with the arts. As well as our current projects we are developing ideas for a multi-school choral project next spring and a music and visual arts weekend in the summer.
**Early morning on a Burmese back road by Alix Kroeger is for sale at the fundraiser along with her other photgraphs. Alix lives locally, and is a journalist who’s worked in the Balkans, Afghanistan, Washington DC and Brussels, as well as in the UK. She’s also travelled to Myanmar and Cuba and taken photos which feature in the exhibition.
